Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information DJ ART collects through thedjart.com and when you contact me, how I use it, who helps me handle it, and the choices you have. DJ ART is a solo event DJ and live saxophonist based in Los Angeles, California. Questions about this policy go straight to me: info@thedjart.com or (310) 343-2412.
Information I collect
Information you give me
- Inquiry form. The "Request a quote" form on this site asks for your name and email address (required), and lets you add your phone number, event date and event type. The form is provided by HoneyBook, the client management system I use, so what you submit goes directly to my HoneyBook account.
- Emails, calls and texts. When you email, call or text me, I receive your contact details and whatever you choose to share, such as your event date, venue, guest count, music preferences and plans.
- Booking details. If you book me, I collect what is needed to plan and perform at your event and to handle the contract and invoices, such as names, the event timeline, venue and vendor contacts, special song requests and name pronunciations, and billing details. Online payments are processed by a payment provider. I do not see or store your full card or bank account number.
Information collected automatically
When you visit thedjart.com, your browser and the tools below automatically collect certain information, such as your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location (based on IP address), pages you view, how you reached the site (for example, a search engine or a link), and when you visited. This happens through cookies, pixels and similar technologies:
- Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, helps me understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited and where visitors come from. It sets first-party cookies (such as
_ga). Learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. - Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook and Instagram) records that you visited the site and sets a cookie (such as
_fbp). This lets me measure my Facebook and Instagram marketing and lets Meta show my ads to people who visited the site, or to similar people. Meta may combine this with other information it has about you under its own Privacy Policy. You can manage how Meta uses this information in your Facebook ad preferences and limit tracking in your browser settings. - HoneyBook loads the inquiry form and a small tracking pixel. The form uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam. reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Videos and photos on this site are hosted on this site's own server. Links to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, WeddingWire, The Knot and other review sites take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
How I use information
- To answer your inquiry, check my availability and send you options and a proposal.
- To plan and perform at your event, and to coordinate with your planner, venue and other vendors you introduce me to.
- To prepare and send contracts and invoices, and to process payments.
- To keep business, tax and accounting records.
- To ask for feedback or a review after your event. You can always ignore or decline this.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it, and to measure and show my ads (see Meta Pixel above).
- To protect the site and my business from spam, fraud and misuse, and to comply with the law.
I do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
How information is shared
I do not sell your personal information for money. I share it only as described here:
- Service providers that help me run my business and this site, under their own terms and privacy commitments: GoDaddy (website hosting), Google (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, reCAPTCHA and business email), HoneyBook (inquiries, client communication, contracts, invoices and payments), and my phone and messaging providers.
- Meta. The Meta Pixel sends information about your visit to Meta for advertising. Under California law, this may count as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See "Your California privacy rights" below to opt out.
- People involved in your event. With your approval or at your request, I share necessary details with your planner, venue, or other vendors.
- Legal reasons. I may disclose information if required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect my rights, safety or property, or those of others.
- Business transfer. If my business is ever sold or transferred, client records may be transferred as part of that deal, and this policy will continue to apply to them.
How long I keep information
- Inquiries that do not turn into a booking: up to 3 years, so I can recognize returning inquiries, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.
- Booking records, contracts and invoices: as long as needed for the event and then as long as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes, typically up to 7 years.
- Analytics data: according to the retention settings of Google Analytics and Meta.
Security
I use reputable providers, secure (HTTPS) connections and account security measures to protect your information. No website, email or online service is 100% secure, so please do not send sensitive information like full card numbers by email or text.
Your choices
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though analytics and ad measurement will not.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, this site does not load the Meta Pixel for that browser.
- Do Not Track. Browsers' "Do Not Track" settings have no common standard, so this site does not change its behavior in response to them. Use GPC or the opt-out options above instead.
- Emails. I only email you about your inquiry or booking. If you don't want to hear from me again, just say so and I will stop.
Your California privacy rights
California's privacy law (the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) gives California residents rights over their personal information. The law applies to businesses that meet certain size thresholds, and DJ ART may not meet them. Even so, I honor the following requests from anyone, in California or not:
- Know and access: ask what personal information I have about you, where it came from, why I use it and who I share it with, and get a copy.
- Delete: ask me to delete your personal information. I may keep what I'm required to keep by law, for example tax records for a booked event.
- Correct: ask me to fix information that is wrong.
- Opt out of sharing: ask me not to share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Use a browser with Global Privacy Control turned on, or email me and I will stop using your information for my ads to the extent I control it, and explain how to turn off Meta Pixel tracking in your browser.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information: I do not collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, health information or precise geolocation) through this site, and I do not use it to infer anything about you.
- No discrimination: you will not be treated differently for using any of these rights.
To make a request, email info@thedjart.com or call (310) 343-2412. I will confirm your identity by matching your request against the contact details I already have (for example, a reply from the email address you used to contact me). You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you, with your signed permission. I will respond within 45 days.
In the past 12 months, the categories of personal information collected were: identifiers and contact details (name, email, phone, IP address); commercial information (event details, bookings, invoices); internet activity (pages viewed and interactions with the site); and approximate location based on IP address. They come from you, your browser and the tools described above, and are used for the purposes described in "How I use information." Identifiers and internet activity collected by the Meta Pixel are shared with Meta for advertising. I do not knowingly sell or share personal information of anyone under 16.
California "Shine the Light." I do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Children
This site and my services are meant for adults planning events. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, contact me and I will delete it. For events such as Bar and Bat Mitzvahs or kids' parties, I work with parents or guardians, not with children directly.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy when my site, tools or the law change. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated. If the changes are significant, I will make that clear on this page.
